Ogden Train

On Tuesday after a not so great day at work, I came home and took my kids and Mark's girls up to Ogden to see the "Christmas Carol Train" that was here for one day only.

And if you know me at all you would know that if it's Disney I'm there. So I dragged my mom and 5 kids to Ogden to see what was there. I have to say I was very disappointed. When it comes to Disney I would have thought that it would have been better. It was a 2 to 3 hour wait to walk through the train, but because I work so hard. . . Monday at work I won ticket's off B98 to walk through the train without waiting (Greg was out of town, I really do work)
So, that was nice but it still took us over an hour to see it all. And to tell you the truth, I don't think the kids really cared.

After spending time at the train station, we went to McDonald's. And I know if you were to ask the girls each of them would say they had more fun there.
Next time I'm just going to McDonald's and they would think that was the coolest because that's all they care about. "Simple Minds Simple Pleasures"

Soaring Eagle Award

This week has been a fun week, but very busy week for the family. We started last Thursday night with Katelyn's Soaring Eagle award. She work really hard on it and I am VERY proud of her.

She had to pass off 25 out of the 30 items. . .such as

  • Making a dinner for a family
  • counting to 100 by 5, 10 and spelling 1- 10
  • day's of the week and month's
  • learning her phone number & address
  • color's & shapes

and many more, needless to say if it weren't for Grandma Carm I'm not sure we would have made it. But now it's done and I am very proud of her for the hard work she did. And she looked so cute sitting up there.

She's not a little girl any more all grown up!

Katelyn's BIG DAY

Katelyn was in a little acting class this year called "Up with Kid"

She did really well and it was a lot of fun watching her be apart of a play.

In the play she played the "little blue bird" and she did really well, I was really proud of her.

I have to admit that I cried, here's my little girl on stage performing. Yes, I'm a proud mom.

But, just like soccer, I don't think we will be doing it again. Katelyn really enjoys dancing and performing so, I think we will be doing that again this fall and McKayla will be joining her.

Wow, do I feel old now. . . my two girls in dance. I think I better get a second job so I can pay for it all :)

40th Birthday Party

This last month we celebrated Mike's 40th birthday! What fun that was.

We had a "Surprise" birthday for him that I really think we surprised him.

I had told Mike that we were going out with some friends and that he needed to meet me down at Jordan Landing. For the party was here at the home in the back yard (or that was what I was planning on)

Well, about 6:30 I received a phone call from my mom telling me they were ready. Well that's not what I told Mike. I told Mike that something was wrong at home and that we needed to rush home. Well by the time we got home I guess Mike was pretty worried about my mom and didn't know what to expect. So, he ran in the front door to find 50 people in our living room. Needles to say Mike was surprised, and a picture tells a thousand words.

But it was a lot of fun, even though it rained (all my decoration's went to pot) it was fun.

Temple, Soccer, and Dance

Just this last weekend my family and I went to the open house of the Temple.

We enjoyed going with all the little kids and spending time as a family. After the Temple we all went out to dinner to my FAVORITE place "Olive Garden". How I enjoy going there.

With 3 kids we just don't get out much, and if we do. . . it's kid friendly.

Saturday was also Katelyn's last day of soccer, HEY! ! ! !

Katelyn had fun most of the time, but I don't think we will be doing it anytime soon.

But don't you worry, I'm sure we will be trying something else soon.

Both the girls will be starting dance in the fall and I really think that's what they enjoy. They both enjoy showing off and being the center of attention.

Well, I hope this week is a little more like summer and not fall. I would really like to play in the sun and I would love to let the kids go outside and play!
