I can't believe it, my little girl Katelyn Marie was just baptized on December 4th

As you can see, Katelyn was a bite nervous, she worked herself up so much that she had
a really bad headache by the time the day was over.

On Thursday November 11th, my mother went into surgery to have a double mastectomy.
It was a bitter sweet thing. Praying that they would be able to get all the cancer, but also scared what my happen.
My mom is such an amazing women and kept us all going when we should have be the ones pushing her along.
We were to be at the IMC at 7:00 am, she was to go in at 11:00 for her surgery and would be about 3 hours long.

This is my mother before surgery. . .

My mom didn't go into surgery until 1:30 and we didn't get to see her until 6:30 that night.
I was a very long day. But by the time we were able to see her things just seem to feel right again.
This is A picture after surgery. . . she was trying to tell us something, and no she isn't. . . it just looks like it, and I don't have another picture :)
She is doing very well, thanks again for all the prays.

So ever year my kids and I take my mom to Gardner Village for her birthday. And this year was no different. My mom had Chemo on Friday and Saturday I dragged her out for the day. She did really well, and my kids had a blast! But my mom wouldn't let me take a picture of her.

Every time I tried taking pictures Katelyn would take off, but I finally got her to take one.

9 years. . . where did the time go

This weekend Mike and I celebrated our 9th Anniversary, and we had a wonderful time.
Friday night Mike and I went to Little America to spend the evening together.
Mike then took me Olive Garden for diner and it was the best I have ever had, I had asked my waiter what he recommended and what he suggested was amazing. So I really enjoyed dinner.
After dinner Mike and I started walking around downtown and ended up at "Off Broadway Theater" It was great, We hadn't gone since we were dating so it brought back so many wonderful memories, and it was a lot of fun.

In the morning Mike took me to the Little America Brunch,
Oh my. . . That is about all I can say, the food was amazing!

Here is our room, believe me it was really hard to leave, it was just nice to relax and enjoy being with each other and not worrying about the kids, thank goodness for my sisters that took them for the night!

Katelyn had a Teddy Bear Field Day that I was able to go and help with, well to be honest she signed me up and I didn't even know until the thank you note came home. But I'm glad I was able to go with her.

McKayla was so excited to go to school she could hardly sleep, I think she came into my room at least 3 times, could have been more but I lost count. By 8:00 in the morning she was all ready to go to school, but school didn't start until 12:30.
I had to go to work so I had to make sure she was already for school.

I meet her at her school to take her in, and she wanted me to only drop her off and go, I asked her if I could go in and say hi to Miss Hollie.
She was so cute, walking in hanging her back pack up going over to her desk she was so happy.
I think she told me a dozen times "goodbye" and I kept telling not yet.
Once it was time for me to go she just smiled at me and said "Bye mommy"
And guess what. . . I didn't even cry, and I thought that I would have cried all the way back to work. . . . I did with Katelyn

Dallin Michael Dawes

I love this little boy, he is such a joy to our family I just couldn't imagine our family with out him.
He is always up to something and making his older sisters cry, and I guess that's what makes it so fun with him, it never a dull moment in our home.
Each night Dallin needs his "Tuff" jammies,"Car" sippy and "Buzz" blanket, runs to my chair and giggles that he made it before me.
I'm so glad he is apart of our family.

I was able to go with my mom one night to a class called
"Feel Good Look Good"
It was a lot of fun and I learned a lot, but I had more fun trying to put makeup on my mom.
My Mom isn't a type that wears makeup so it was fun

When my boss goes out of town in the summer, that's the time that I spring clean the office and make it look nice.
But this week was the week that I just had surgery and wasn't even suppose to be at work so I couldn't do anything so Friday afternoon my kids were dropped so I put them to work, and they thought it was the coolest thing ever.

Kimberly's fun day

So for about 2 weeks I had pain that never wanted to leave, and so I couldn't stand it anymore so I wanted it to leave :) So after seeing 4 different doctors in 2 days and all of them telling the exact same thing to have surgery, I scheduled it on July 31, 2010
Thursday night we got the call that asked us to be there by 8:15 and surgery about 10:00.
So we dropped the 3 kids off at my sister-in-laws home at 7:30 and took off to IMC.

By 9:30 the nurse came in to let us know that the doctor ran into an emergency at St. Marks and would be about an hour or two. No big deal what's a few hours. So we called my mom and Stephanie to let them know that it would be a little bit before I would be going in.

By Noon they came in to tell us that is would be another couple of hours, I still was ok and wanted to have the surgery that day. I didn't want to go another week, My boss was going to be out of town the following week, my mom had her port and chemo all that next week So it needed to be done. After talking about it Mike and I decided to wait. By 2:00 we were told the good news that the doctor was here, but there was one problem. I was his first patient, but the one after me wasn't looking so good, she is a breast cancer patient and was having a really hard time waiting. Mike and I agreed to let her go before me, her surgery was a 2 hour surgery so I wouldn't even start until 4 or so. WOW! but what was a few more hours.

At 4:03 they came in to get me to go get my gall bladder out . . . HAPPY DAY! ! ! !
By 6:30 I was in recovery and doing well, except Mike thought it was okay to take pictures
And at 8:30 pm (12 later) Mike got me home, Dallin was so excited to see me, but I kind of out of it still, but he was a good boy and just sat there with me.

Mike spent time on the farm growing up while his grandparent served a mission, so Mike enjoys going up and showing our kids things he did growing up. And it's fun watching Mike be a kid again.

We drove up to Idaho with Mike family to spend the day at the water slide. The kids loved it.
The minute that Dallin would come down the slide he would find someone to take him up again. He had a blast.

Katelyn was always on the go, I could never get a close up with her for she was running around with her cousins that I never had the chance to get one of her.

Carmen's Big Day

Today is the day that it all was coming off!
Wow what a day, it started out with my mom's hair falling out to a point that it was time for me to cut it.
While we were cutting it, we received a phone call from Kristina saying that she was just in a car accident and that she wouldn't make it on time to take my mom to chemo.
Thank goodness I had a babysitter set up so that I could go do a few things before my mom came home that afternoon. But instead I was able to take her to her second treatment of chemo.
So needless to say it turned out to be a very crazy morning.

Dallin's surgery

Dallin has had 7 ear infections since November, and since Disneyland he has been a nightmare. I have been trying to get him an ENT appointment, but didn't have much luck. They soonest I was able to get him in way February 9th.

Well by then he would have 2 more ear infections and a mom that would be "NUTS"

On Wednesday Katelyn had an appointment with an ENT and I thought that I would just ask the Doctor to take a peek in his ears. After Katelyn's was check he took a look in Dallin's ear. Told me that they were in bad shape, walked out of the room and with in 2 min. was back asking me if I would be able to come in on Thursday.

I WAS SO HAPPY! I didn't want to go another day with him in pain.

Poor kid didn't know what was coming. . .

Wednesday night after Mike and my dad gave him a blessing I put him to sleep around 10:30pm

I wasn't able to get to bed until midnight.

Well 12:36 started our fun. . . he was up from 12:36 - 1:00 am, and then again at 2:30.

But from 2:30 - 5:00 he did nothing but cry. I tried everything. I even took him for a ride at 4:00 in the morning. All he did was "SCREAM" after 50 min. of that I came home asked Mike to take him so I could get in the shower.

By the time I got out he was sound asleep in Mike arms.

Very cute but at the same time I was ticked!

I tryed EVERYTHING and Mike takes him and goes right to sleep, what up with that?

We had to be at the Riverton Hospital at 6:15am.
When we got there everyone was so nice, and Dallin was eating it up.
Plus he had the TV to him self. With 2 sisters that doesn't happen much.

Right about now they gave Dallin a "Happy Drug"
that is what the nurse called it. I asked her why, she told me it was to help him not remember what was to happen today. It would make him pretty loopy for 30-45 min

And that it did.
I was laughing so hard at him, it was so cute he just kept looking around didn't know what to expect. it was just so cute.
Nurse kept coming in just to watch him, he was just to funny.

This was taken right before they took him from me.

There goes my son with one of the Doctors. He was a champ!

He didn't even cry and I know it was because of the drugs but it helped me.
I remember when Katelyn had this done she screamed all the way down the hall and I was in tears.

This was much better.

No more then 10 min the Doctor came in and told me that everything went well and that he would be in with in 15 min.

He also told me that the left ear was pretty bad that every time he would lay down that the pressure would make the ear drum expand, and the pain would be unbearable.

Now I feel like the worse mother ever.

Thank goodness Mike came, he wasn't going to due to a test today and work but I had no sleep and Mike was worried I wouldn't be able to handle it. But I think I did really well!

I know this isn't a big surgery but I hate to see them in pain.

Poor kid was not happy.

They gave him some apple juice and he was happy again.

Yes, ALL 3 of my children cried sitting on Santa's lap, the sad thing is that it was their dad.

We were at my Edward Jones Christmas Party and they asked Mike if he would be Santa for the evening. So I thought that I would have my children go up and get their pictures with him. But there wasn't a dry eye, I'll be honest. . . I couldn't stop laughing. I finally ask Mike to tell McKayla that it was him and then she was ok. It was Also McKayla Birthday that day and Dallin's the next so Santa gave them something for sitting on his lap.

after McKayla's birthday party this little boy was going crazy over the balloons, I went to put the McKayla in the shower to get her cleaned up and Dallin was going to get in next so I was getting him ready. Next thing I know he was gone in the family room playing with his balloons.

My cute little Katelyn, she wanted to be a Cheetah Girl from the movie "One World" this is as close as I could get for her. But she loved it, and so did mom it was very cheap this year for her. I'm one that will spend WAY to much for my girls but this year I didn't want to do a lot with our Disney trip just around the corner.

Today while watching GC, I thought that I would go clean out the kids closets and get ready for winter. So I went into Katelyn & McKayla's room turned on the TV and started cleaning out the closet, well with in seconds McKayla came in and wanted to help. You know what that means . . .
TROUBLE

Well she found Katelyn's & her blessing dresses, next thing I know she has them on.

Now remind you we blessed Katelyn when she was 6 weeks old and McKayla when she was 4 months old, and McKayla will be 3 in December.

I've decided that she is just or "little" girl who will never grow up. On the other hand I have a son Dallin that I can't keep up on how fast he is growing up.

McKayla walk around the house for about an hour with the dresses on and now two of her babies have them on. I know there my be a few of you out there that are shocked that I would let her do this, but again when I'm I going to use them again. . . .Maybe McKayla could wear hers on her baptism day.

Missing Teeth

On September 23rd Katelyn had a very lose tooth, so the nice mom that I am, asked her if I could see how lose it was and for some reason she let me.
Well I took a hold of it and pulled really fast and out it came

She wasn't to happy about it.
First person she want to tell was Grandma.
My mom asked how much do you think the tooth fair would bring? she told my mom,
"I think he will bring me $40"
man Mike and I said if that's the case we should start pull ours out.
Well the "Tooth Fair" stopped by that night and left her $5 (which I still think is too much)
She was so excited that she want to take the tooth in to show her school teacher Mrs Reese.
Luckily the "Tooth Fair" left it in a baggy with a note saying "I thought that I would leave this for you Katelyn"
Just the little things that matter.

Well, on October 3rd we lost another Tooth.

Wow, how kids forget the little things again I asked to see how lose it was, and again I pulled really fast, and again we had a tooth.

And quess what. . . Katelyn is now crying.

She looks so cute missing her two front teeth.

Yes, she can now sing the song "all I want for Christmas is my two front teeth"

There are many time since Dallin has come into our family that I would go put Dallin down to sleep and with in minutes McKayla would be in his room and in his bed, I have no idea where this little girl came from. She is just into everything and poor Dallin is just in the middle of it.

With Katelyn now in school and Mike starting again on Tuesday with school Today I believe will be the last day we can make it to Raging Waters for the summer season.

Oquirrh Mountain Temple Dedication

Oquirrh Mountain Temple Dedication.

Mike and I had the opportunity to go to the 2nd Dedication on the OM Temple.

Well, I didn't know how long the lines would be so, I took Katelyn to school at 8:30 and then went to the Temple. Well to our surprise, they were just starting to place the Corner Stone.

That was amazing. We were able to see the Prophet and here him talking to all the little children.
When they finished, everyone started sing "Happy Birthday" to President Monson WHAT A GREAT DAY!

What a AMAZING man, it was so neat to listen to him, he was talking to the little ones, saying jokes and just having a great time.

It was the most amazing thing to attend. I will never forget the feeling I had when we stood up to say Hosanna Shout and you could hear the whole Temple saying it. And when we sang "The Spirit of God" WOW! The whole Temple singing this song. Words just can't describe it.

Today was Katelyn's FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! ! ! !I sent her to bed Monday night at 8:00 and she wasn't happy she kept telling me that she wasn't tired, but 7:00 am she sure wasn't ready to get up. . . say goodbye 9:00 mornings.

by this point Katelyn asked me to leave. . . can't wait until she's a teenager.

Lagoon Day

Saturday was "Coke" day at Lagoon

Wayne works for "Coke" so we were able to spend the day at Lagoon, and it was a perfect day, not to hot and not to cold. And the Kids had a blast.

Potty Training

I told myself back in April that by the end of Summer McKayla would be "Potty Trained"

Well summer is almost over and McKayla still isn't fully potty trained.

My mommy is funny she thinks I'm going to go potty

Well today was my day off and I didn't want to do a thing so I thought that today would be a great day to try. Well McKayla thought is was funny to put her potty pants on top of her clothes.

I swear that girl is going to kill me. She really thought it was funny that she took off to play outside.

Edward Jones BBQ

Thursday night was my Edward Jones Annual BBQ for our clients.

Well this year we did it at Wheeler Farms and it was great!

Saturday afternoon my sister called and asked if we wanted to go get our toes painted.

Well my girls were so excited, and because I was trying to get us there on time I forgot my camera, and believe me I wasn't happy so I took pictures when we go home.

McKayla was in heaven, she loved every minute they painted her toes and her fingers and she didn't move a mussel. She was so cute about it.

I'm sleeping through the night and my mom loves me again.

I know, I know, you don't need to go on about it.

Just because I'm 8 months today doesn't mean I need my

Monday morning we went to a water slide somewhere in Idaho (I have no clue where we were)

but we sure had a blast. There was so much to do there.

Sunday was a nice day. . . before church we went outside at Allen and Karen's home and played

Saturday we took off to the Lake . . . the kids had a blast playing in the water and taking turns on the boat.

This past Sunday we got together as a Family at Mark's again.

Well if any of you know us, you would know that we are that type that likes to do different things and see different things.

When I got home from work on Wednesday Dallin was a little in the moody side.

So I gave him a bath to make him happy and put him in the Family room to have him play with his toys, well Dallin is starting to get around and some how he got behind my chair and was a happy boy for about 30 min.

On Sunday's we get together at one of our homes, well the night before I asked if anyone was coming over for dinner. And all of them said "no" or "I don't think so" but by 6:00 pm everyone had made it over to my house. Well everyone except Mark and his family

Strawberry Lake

For "Father's Day" we wanted to give something to our dad that he would enjoy, so we bought him a day with his family at Strawberry Lake. We rented two boats just to fit us all on.

On the first boat there was . . .

So, we started to head back in to wait out the storm

Bear Lake on the 4th

Over the 4th of July we went up to Bear Lake

My family likes to camp, but if you know me at all you would know that dirt and Kimberly just don't get along. So thanks to a wonderful boss I was able to stay in his condo "thanks Greg"

We drove up Friday night which was an experience in itself.

By the time I picked up Mike from work both my girls asked if we were there yet, had to go the bathroom, and that they were hungry. So it was a wonderful 3 hours, you would think that I would have problems with Dallin, but yet I didn't hear a peep out of him.

Who me?

So we got to the condo about 8 that night, and Katelyn walked in the condo asking where Garrison and Greg were. To her surprise they weren't there and they weren't coming.

Buy the time I told her that we were going to go swimming, I think she got over it real fast.

By about 11 at night we had a few more in the condo then expected. The weather had turned real fast and there were a few that didn't want to face the storm. So it was kind of fun to see how many we could sleep.

There was Mike, me, Katelyn, McKayla, Dallin, Abbie & Kylee all in one room, Steph, Mark, Ken, Emilee, Emilee's mom out in the family room and my parents in the other room.

Good thing were a close family.

The next morning we made breakfast and took off to the other side of the beach, Yep that's right I had a wonderful place to stay but yet they made my drive to IDAHO to sit in dirt all day!

Raging Waters

Saturday we went to Raging Waters and spent the day with the family. I think the kids had a lot of fun that day! I know I did.

The day after Raging Waters. . . The girls wouldn't walk they had blisters on both feet. . . Mom went and bought water shoes for the next time we go.

Wheeler Farm

Katelyn had a field day on Monday and I was able to go with her and her class to Wheeler Farm!

We had to be at the school by 8:30 (which I didn't make) we got there about 8:45. We were then put into groups. My group was the "Chick's" I told the girls it was because we were such "HOT CHICK'S" They thought that was pretty cute. In your group we had. . .

So we had a really fun group and we had a lot of fun.

Katelyn had fun feeding the ducks. . . not really, one bit her and she was done she didn't want anything to do with the animals after that. But she was really good and walked around looking at everything. It was nice just to go with my one little girl and spend some time with her, and I think she needed it.

Another fun night waiting around at Walmart waiting to see "Sharpay"

I left work early to pick up Kylee and Abbie, run home to get my two girls and the baby and head back down to South Jordan Walmart, but to my surprise there were about 600 mom's that thought the same thing. What a mess! ! !

So, I thought that it would be about an hour or so of waiting, but it turned out to be about 4 hours and didn't even get close to seeing her. I was pretty upset and so were all the little girls.

And again I had to take the girls to McDonald's to make it up!

So, 2 things in one week I need to stay home and stop going to all these things that turn into a mess.

But I'm sure I haven't learned my lesson. . . IT'S DISNEY!

But all in all we had a good time, we got to know a few people and I even left 4 kids with them as I run McKayla to the bathroom 6 times. For some reason I thought it would be fun to have that night the first time out in "big girl pants" and she did REALLY WELL. in the 7 hours that we were away from the house, there were no oops! ! !

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

I hope everyone had a wonderful day today.

My day didn't start off too good. . . It started last night when I went to go get Mike's Father's day gift and get it ready for the morning, but to my surprise it was missing. I have no clue where it went, and have no clue if I will ever find it. I cleaned out everything, and in the morning I even went through the garbage and still haven't found it. So, I was pretty upset all morning and by the time we got home from church I gave up trying to find his gift. I don't think I will ever find it.

I told Mike we would go out and get him a new CTR ring. Oh well, I tried but this is the second time I have bought him a CTR ring and I haven't been able to give it to him. (long story)

But the day started to get better, we went over to my brother's (Mark) for BBQ dinner and some fun.

The girls (Katelyn, Kylee, Abbie, McKayla) and Zack played in swimming pool for awhile until they were all purple. I think we are all hoping it would be summer.

After dinner we played games out side like kick ball, baseball and Bing bag (I think that's what they call it)

As you can see, we all had a wonderful time with each other and will do it all over again next Sunday. So again I hope you all had a wonderful day.

Ogden Train

On Tuesday after a not so great day at work, I came home and took my kids and Mark's girls up to Ogden to see the "Christmas Carol Train" that was here for one day only.

And if you know me at all you would know that if it's Disney I'm there. So I dragged my mom and 5 kids to Ogden to see what was there. I have to say I was very disappointed. When it comes to Disney I would have thought that it would have been better. It was a 2 to 3 hour wait to walk through the train, but because I work so hard. . . Monday at work I won ticket's off B98 to walk through the train without waiting (Greg was out of town, I really do work)
So, that was nice but it still took us over an hour to see it all. And to tell you the truth, I don't think the kids really cared.

After spending time at the train station, we went to McDonald's. And I know if you were to ask the girls each of them would say they had more fun there.
Next time I'm just going to McDonald's and they would think that was the coolest because that's all they care about. "Simple Minds Simple Pleasures"

Soaring Eagle Award

This week has been a fun week, but very busy week for the family. We started last Thursday night with Katelyn's Soaring Eagle award. She work really hard on it and I am VERY proud of her.

She had to pass off 25 out of the 30 items. . .such as

Making a dinner for a family
counting to 100 by 5, 10 and spelling 1- 10
day's of the week and month's
learning her phone number & address
color's & shapes

and many more, needless to say if it weren't for Grandma Carm I'm not sure we would have made it. But now it's done and I am very proud of her for the hard work she did. And she looked so cute sitting up there.

She's not a little girl any more all grown up!
